Central Networks are responsible for the maintenance of both high and low voltage electricity substations in the Midlands region. When things go wrong, they need to get a suitably qualified engineer to the scene of the fault as quickly as possible. The longer customers are without electricity, the heavier the fines imposed on Central Networks by the industry regulators - there's clearly a massive incentive to improve efficiency in this area.
Rock 7 Mobile Services have developed a 'Who's my nearest?' solution, which gives essential proximity information to an operations centre about their engineers in the field. They can find the closest engineer to the fault within seconds, and also make intelligent routing decisions about which engineer can actually reach the site quickest.
The engineers don't carry any special equipment - just their mobile 'phones. The operations centre only require an internet-connected computer to access the secure management console.

The BOZII Hotspot Locator is a classic use of the Where's My Nearest product from Rock Seven Mobile Services to help BOZII's customers find wireless internet access wherever they are in the country.
BOZII's SMS hotspot locator allows you to find your nearest wi-fi hotspot quickly and cheaply. Text the word HOTSPOT to 80010 from your mobile phone and a message will be returned within a few seconds informing you of your closest wi-fi location.
If you reply to the message received with the word NEXT, a message will return with the next nearest hotspot.

LighterLife
Where's my nearest?
LighterLife is a successful weight management Programme for people who are clinically obese delivered to clients through small counselling groups. They approached Rock Seven Mobile Services requesting help with getting prospective clients in touch with their nearest counsellor.
We were able to provide LighterLife with a simple 'Where's My Nearest' text service where users text LIGHTERLIFE to 80010 and are sent the details of the closest counsellor to their current location.
Asking for help with a weight problem is a big step for a lot of people. By using this system LighterLife is providing a quick, simple and discreet way to get new and existing clients in touch with someone who can help.
