World ARC vessel brought in safely for repairs

  • 18/2/2010

Once again Yellowbrick has proved extremely useful to the World ARC organisers - when the vessel Bristol Rose suffered some damage, Yellowbrick helped them quickly locate the vessel and organise recovery back to harbour for repairs.

Although the Yellowbrick's on World ARC are normally set to transmit once every day, during 'problem' times we can ask them to transmit more frequently - whilst the recovery was taking place, the Yellowbrick was set to transmit once an hour to help keep track of the vessel's location.

"Yellowbrick can now be turned back to reporting once every 24hours, as they are now safely at anchorage in Panama, carrying out repairs.

Once again, the Yellowbrick system proved to be extremely useful in the rapid locating and recovery of the boat, especially at a time when other comms systems onboard were proving unreliable. The help it gave it not to be underestimated" - World Cruising Club
