Round Britain and Ireland Yacht Race

  • 23/3/2010

Yellowbrick are extremely pleased to announce that we will be covering the Round Britain and Ireland yacht race this year, organised by the Royal Western Yacht Club.

Started by the Royal Western in 1966, the Round Britain and Ireland is one of the International classics of short-handed sailing, and over the years has attracted the great names. The course is clockwise around all of Great Britain & Ireland, and there are compulsory stops of 48 hours at Kinsale, Barra, Lerwick and Lowestoft where the hospitality is legendary. It is always a terrific test of endurance and seamanship, and not for the faint hearted.

Race entry now exceeds 50 boats and includes several boats and crews who have taken part in previous Round Britain races.

The Race is open to all yachts and multihulls between 30’ and 50’ in length, crewed by two people only.
Classes are to be arranged by the IRC handicap system.

We look forward to providing some excellent tracking for this event, and to a long term relationship with the Royal Western Yacht Club.
